Follistim® (follitropin beta injection)

What is Follistim AQ and How Does it Work?

Follistim® AQ Cartridge (follitropin beta injection) helps support women in developing and releasing mature eggs. Consisting of a man-made form of the hormone FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), which is responsible for regulating healthy ovulation among women, Follistim AQ may be prescribed in conjunction with other fertility medications or for women who are participating in an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) program. Men may also receive a prescription for Follistim injection to help improve sperm production, as part of a fertility treatment plan.

Follistim vs. Gonal-f RFF

Both Follistim AQ and Gonal-f RFF are prescribed by doctors to help treat infertility issues in both women and men. Based on your health history, fertility plan, and other prescribed medications, your doctor will work with you to find the best treatment plan that offers you the highest success rate for pregnancy.

If the product is kept refrigerated, it is good until its expiration date written on the box. If you keep this product unrefrigerated, it should last for a maximum of 28 days.

Missing a Follistim Injection

If you missed a dose on the same day, you may usually inject the dose as soon as you remember. However, it is vital that you contact your physician immediately for instructions.
